What can my first tech job be?

Marketing: tell the story

Marketing roles are extremely diverse and range from design & creative to acquisition directors and CMO’s. Marketing is all about communicating with the consumer and creating a steady stream of revenue. If you have experience in non-tech marketing, branding, advertising etc. this is the direction for you.

Sales: win the real battle

Sales roles are in direct contact with the consumer, constantly engaged and result driven. They are the true warriors of the industry, achieving the business goals and creating growth. If you have experience in sales, entrepreneurship, advertising etc. You just found your switch.

Business Development: power that growth

Creating new business relationships, growth opportunities and revenue streams, these roles are in constant demand in the tech industry. These roles requires excellent eye for changes, ambition and strategic understanding of the business. If you have experience in sales, growth, acquisition etc. This is your place.

Operations: manage the show

Tech companies are designed to be fast and agile, the department that makes sure everything actually happens is operations. The department roles vary from project managers, COO’s and heads of operations. If you have past experience in operations, production, logistics etc. This is your department.

Project Management: lead the way

Result focused yet able to multitask this is what project managers need to be on a daily basis. Turning plans into reality while manoeuvring between different departments and roles. Project managers can come from different backgrounds, as long as they can prove they have the skills to get the job done. If you have experience in project management, product management, production, music industry etc. This is the role for you.

Customer Success: influence who really matters

Develop costumer relationships, create the best user experience, grow the community and positive sentiment. Customer success is an excellent entry point to the tech world, relying mostly on personal skills and knowledge of the ecosystem. If you have experience in the majority of client facing roles and good people skills, this is your way in.

Your fellow sojis will become your immediate network and you will learn skills and content that will give you the self-confidence to feel you can switch into tech, and anything else your interests take you to beyond that. Don't even think about, make the SWITCH!

The SWITCH course through Jolt is highly recommended for any individual that wants to make a career change into #Tech. The structure and delivery of the content is well thought out, relevant and taught by industry professionals. I am proud to be a graduate of Jolt and wish my fellow Soji's all the best in their new careers!

Fantastic knowledge from the world of tech

The course was a fantastic insight into the world of tech, which jobs are out there and how my existing skills learned mainly from the world of hospitality would transfer into a brand new sector. Fantastic teachers who are full time tech professionals themselves really helped, and everyone was so enthusiastic. My LinkedIn and CV look unmeasurably better now than when I started the course, and I'm going to feel a lot more confident going into interviews. I'd really recommend this course for anyone wanting to get into tech, or refocus their existing career.
